October 22, 2024

Calley: “Critical court decisions make this election pivotal for Michigan’s small businesses”

Lansing, MI – The Small Biz PAC, associated with the Small Business Association of Michigan, is proud to endorse Judge Patrick William O’Grady and Representative Andrew Fink for the Michigan Supreme Court in this November’s election.

Both candidates have demonstrated a strong commitment to upholding the law, keeping Michigan’s business climate fair and consistent.

“Judge O’Grady and Representative Fink are both outstanding candidates who have shown time and again that they understand what it takes to ensure a level playing field for our state’s entrepreneurs,” said Brian Calley, President and CEO of the Small Business Association of Michigan. “In recent months, our members have seen the impact of important Supreme Court decisions, and we’re eager to back candidates that can deliver thoughtful, responsible approaches to critical legal decisions. In fact, Michigan’s future economic health depends on it.”

Judge Patrick William O’Grady

With over 15 years of judicial experience and a philosophy of consistency and upholding the rule of law, Judge Patrick William O’Grady is the clear choice for Michigan Supreme Court this November. Judge O’Grady has served as Circuit Judge for the 15th Circuit Court since 2008 and has presided over nearly 14,000 cases in that time. Throughout his tenure, Judge O’Grady has maintained a strong adherence to his principles and to the language of law while deciding high-leverage cases. As a Supreme Court Justice, O’Grady will bring strong experience and values to the state’s highest court.

Representative Andrew Fink

Current State Representative Andrew Fink is the clear choice in the race for Michigan’s vacant Supreme Court seat. As a legislator, Fink serves as the Minority Vice Chair for the House Judiciary committee and has been a consistent vote on small business issues throughout his time in office – earning the Small Biz PAC endorsement in his most recent House election. His experience as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate, and later as an attorney in Hillsdale County taught him the value of the law and the importance of consistency. As a justice, Fink’s philosophy will be a welcome addition to the Court, and makes him the preferred candidate in this race.

The Small Biz PAC is the political action committee of the Small Business Association of Michigan, which endorses candidates who have demonstrated support for Michigan’s small business community, regardless of political party.

The Small Business Association of Michigan focuses solely on serving the needs of Michigan’s small business community through advocacy, collaboration and buying power. Today they serve over 32,000 members in all 83 counties of Michigan. SBAM is located in Lansing, just one block from the Capitol.
