SBAM names Mark Sanchez of Crain’s Grand Rapids the 2023 Communicator of the Year

LANSING, MI – The Small Business Association of Michigan has honored Mark Sanchez, reporter at Crain’s Grand Rapids Business, as its 2023 Communicator of the Year.
“Mark has been a faithful viewer of SBAM’s Small Business Briefing since its creation and is tuned in to the challenges of Michigan’s small business community,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “Mark is well-known among his peers for his reporting style and thoughtful approach. His ability to create new content and tell the stories that impact the small business climate is critical in helping to create awareness of the consequences of legislation that might impede entrepreneurial growth in Michigan.”
Sanchez leads coverage of small business, health care, finance and life sciences at Crain’s Grand Rapids Business, and previously worked at MiBiz since 2012.
The 2023 Communicator of the Year award was presented to Sanchez on Thursday, June 15 during SBAM’s Annual Meeting, which was held in Lansing.
