We mentioned last week that as benefit and open enrollment planning is taking place within your company, it should be remembered that there are a number of annual health plan notices that you may be required by law to send to employees who participate in your company’s health plan:
The Summary Plan Description that SBAM provides our Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network sponsored members does include language regarding the Annual Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Notice and Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 (WHCRA) Notice. The SPD does not include anything on Medicare Part D, HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, or Notice of Grandfather Status. As a service to our members, we’re making available downloads available.
Also, SBAM’s partners can assist you if you have any questions or concerns about providing these notices to your employees.
