Companies today are experiencing the consequences of communication that falls short – loss of production, profitability, poor employee engagement, and lower customer satisfaction. This course will help participants assess the effectiveness of company communications and improve individuals’ ability to develop and present effectively.
This course will be held in Grand Rapids at Hungerford (2910 Lucerne Drive SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546) on September 10, 2024, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The course minimum is 8 people, and the capacity is limited to 15 people.
The world of business communication is constantly changing and can be difficult to navigate without great communication skills. According to an Expert Market Online 2022 study, “86 percent of employees and executive cite the lack of effective collaboration and communication as the main causes of workplace failures.” Want people to understand and execute corporate programs? Need to inspire innovation? Improve accuracy and delivery? Great communicators make a difference in their organization, support communication programs and help develop internal communication champions to assist. The course will have a video that must be viewed in advance which will provide background information on the history of business communication and current trends. This course is designed to help participants:
- Understand communication styles and how they impact an organization
- Work on developing their personal brand and create their elevator pitch
- Assess different “audiences” i.e. employees, suppliers, and customers
- Adapt communications and style to different audiences
- Use CK’s formula for developing great messaging and effective communications
- Handle conflict and negotiation, bad news or changes, tough “crowds”
After attending this program participants will also be able to:
- Speak more effectively as leaders
- Do a communication audit: internal and external communications or direct others to carry one out
- Hold more effective meetings: pre-communication, improve content
- Impromptu speaking
This course would be beneficial to owners and staff with communication, marketing, or sales responsibilities.
