Small Business Association of Michigan records 97 percent endorsement success

The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) saw 97 percent of its endorsed House candidates elected Nov. 8. The list of endorsements can be found at sbam.org/endorsements.

“We consider it a remarkable achievement that voters elected so many candidates who put a strong emphasis on creating a stronger entrepreneurial climate in the state and committed to furthering job growth and economic prosperity,” said SBAM President and CEO Rob Fowler. “As we move forward, we encourage our newly elected House members to cooperate in a bi-partisan fashion to address the challenges facing our state.”

Critical small business issues that SBAM believes will be considered by the legislature this year and next include energy legislation, eliminating the onerous health care assessment on small businesses and their employees and removing burdensome regulations on our state’s economy.

The Small BIZ PAC endorsements were bi-partisan and based on incumbent voting records, past or current small business ownership, recommendations from SBAM members, candidate interviews, candidate questionnaires and other factors.
