SBAM’s Rob Fowler, BLM’s Doug Rothwell pen guest column for Detroit Free Press on recalls

From the Detroit Free Press: “Recalls are hugely divisive and an expensive diversion of resources that could be better used to help grow and improve our state. That’s why we are troubled by the recent efforts to recall state legislators who took a courageous stand and made the politically difficult decision to vote in favor of business tax reform.

Both of our organizations — the Small Business Association of Michigan and Business Leaders for Michigan — supported the passage of business tax reform. It’s a vitally needed change in business taxation that, when it goes into effect Jan. 1, will create jobs and foster economic dynamism. But we oppose efforts to recall legislators who voted for or against the bill.”
