The Small Business Association of Michigan added 22 new member businesses last week. “We’re thrilled with our membership growth trend and excited by the opportunity to reach 15,000-plus members by July,” said SBAM President & CEO Rob Fowler. “Each of these new members is now connected to a wealth of resources designed to help grow their companies.”
As the month of May comes to a close, SBAM is busy preparing for a number of June events that we hope both new and current members will attend.
June 12-13: National Economic Gardening Conference
SBAM President & CEO Rob Fowler will be addressing attendees at the 10th annual National Economic Gardening Conference in Grand Rapids. The conference visits Grand Rapids for the first time and will include additional discussions led by Chris Gibbons, creator of the economic gardening model; Mark Lange of the Edward Lowe Foundation and Gov. Rick Snyder as the conference’s keynote speaker.
June 21: SBAM Annual Meeting and Networking Luncheon
SBAM will be holding its 43rd Annual Meeting and Networking Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 pm at the Lansing Center, located in downtown Lansing. The event program is emceed by SBAM’s President & CEO Rob Fowler and consists of our volunteer leadership transition ceremony, membership awards and keynote address. Individual tickets are $45 ($60 after June 1) and tables are $350.
June 26: Crain’s Detroit Business “Salute to Entrepreneurs”
SBAM is proud to sponsor the Crain’s Detroit Business “Salute to Entrepreneurs”, which will be taking place at the Detroit Golf Club on June 26. The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and includes an awards presentation, keynote address from Manoj Bhargava, CEO of Living Essentials LLC and creator of 5 Hour Energy; and an MEDC Panel & Roundtable Discussion. SBAM members can attend for $45, a $30 savings from the regular ticket price.
