On Wednesday, dozens of legislators and staff crammed into Gov. Rick Snyder’s press auditorium to watch him sign his fifth budget. The administration dubbed the event, “Five Years. Five Smart, Balanced Budgets.”
Top on the list of accomplishments for this budget were:
– $95 million deposited into the Rainy Day Fund pushing that total to $600 million
– $85 million for Career Tech Programs
– More money for K-12 schools with between a $70 to $140 per pupil increase and a new $30.5 million third grade readiness initiative
