Growth at SBAM has not slowed this summer, with membership increasing every week including last week when 25 business owners joined our organization.
Eighteen businesses joined for an exclusive member benefit including group health insurance, COBRA administration or tuition discounts at Davenport University. Additionally, seven business owners will receive access to our most popular member benefits including discounts on shipping with FedEx and office supplies with OfficeMax.
With our powerful voice in Lansing, these 25 members only strengthen our ability to advocate on behalf of small business owners. SBAM has become one of the most influential voices in Lansing and our “strength in numbers” message resonates throughout the Capitol.
As we enter this busy political season we would like to remind all of our members to support small business friendly candidates. You can find a list of our endorsed and “stamp of approval” candidates here and keep them in mind as you consider who you will vote for in November.
With the recent, Supreme Court decision upholding the Affordable Healthcare Act, our team of experts has created a website (sbam.org/healthcarereform) which focuses on the implementation of the law and how it will effect small business owners. In addition to the website, we will be hosting a webinar with Crain’s Detroit Business Thursday, August 16 from noon-1. To participate in the webinar, please register here.
If you would like to become more involved with SBAM and help us elect more pro-small business candidates we encourage you to visit sbam.org/engagenow. Here you can volunteer to write a letter to the editor, host a fundraiser, plant a yard sign in your lawn, among many others. Our 15,000+ members allow us to be an influential voice in Lansing, but we can only do it with your help.
